Cultural Exchanges with the Abruzzo Region:

  • In October 2001, the FADM hosted a delegation of mayors and other government representatives from various town and provinces of Abruzzo,
  • In the summer of 2002, the Federation sponsored the “Bucciarelli Educational Trip to Abruzzo”, comprised of members’ children and other students of the Italian language.
  • In October 2003, the FADM hosted a group of students and government representatives from various towns in Abruzzo.
  • In September 2006, the FADM hosted the musical group DisCanto from Pacentro, Abruzzo at the Italian American Cultural Center.
  • Hosted musical group Quintetto Cameristico Deltensemble from L’Aquila in 2010.
  • Hosted a Delegation of Professors from the University of L’Aquila, government representatives from the REgion of Abruzzo, and Quintetto Cameristico Deltensemble, in November 2013.
    Deltensemble performaed in concert “I Sogni di Donato”, dedicated to the Italian-American immigrant.
  • Wroking with Wayne State to support and collaborate on the Wayne in Abruzzo Program.
  • Contributions to ABruzzese clubs to preserve their histories.
  • Video Histories: Video histories of our members who immigrated to a new world (in process)Join Presentations:
    • Collaborated with the Dante Alighieri Society on presentations of Italian and Abruzzese culture:
      • Poetry reading by Rosetta DiLorenzo
      • Festa della Befana lecture and party for kids under 16
    • Collaborated with the Italian Film Festival USA to sponsor and present first run Italian films. April 1st – April 26th in Detroit
